YouTube Description
as posted by the channelShakair McCain is one of Pennsylvania’s many Black activists who organized on the ground despite racial hostility to achieve a Democratic victory in this year’s 2020 U.S. election. She experienced firsthand the hostility that comes from political polarization after she organized a local BLM rally that was met by armed white men.
For her, the divisions created by the last four years have gotten so bad that she purchased a gun and even took it with her to vote on Election Day.
She is one of many grassroots organizers in the state hoping for change following this election but she says her commitment to political protest will continue into a Biden presidency. Now, organizers are waiting to see whether Biden can deliver the change that so many progressive groups are working to achieve.
