Pro-Trump protesters attacked two Black churches in DC when, pulling down Black Lives Matter flags and burning them in the street. The white supremacist, right wing extremists descended on the nation’s capital to reject President-elect Joe Biden’s election win.

Police said they’re investigating the incidents as possible hate crimes, but did not comment on whether arrests were made in the vandalism.

City officials condemned the attacks on historic churches and lamented the light police presence during the weekend’s unrest.

The vandalism was part of weekend protests by the Proud Boys and other pro-Trump groups. Four people were stabbed near the White House where counter-protesters were teargassed by police. Police arrested nearly three dozen people.
