as posted by the channelA Georgetown University law professor was fired after she made racist comments about a Black student in what she thought was a private Zoom meeting. Sandra Seller said, “A lot of my lower ones are Blacks,” referring to Black students’ academic performance.
The other professor in the meeting has been put on administrative leave as the school investigates the incident. The Black Law Students Association wrote a letter demanding the school take action, including reassessing grading procedure and auditing Sellers’ past grading and student evaluations. The letter was signed by 1,000 + student, alumni, and faculty.
This is not the first time a racist incident has been reported to the university. In 2019, Carrie Menkel-Meadow, professor emerita at Georgetown Law and professor at the University of California at Irvine School of Law, used a racial slur in one of her classes at UC Irvine.
