1:42Now PlayingRep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) joined a panel for the Middle East Institute on the Nakba, or “catastrophe,” when over 750,000 Palestinians were forced to abandon their homes by the Israeli government between 1947 and 1949. Around 15,000 Palestinians died.
“My ancestors and family in Palestine deserve the right for their history to be told without any obstruction or lies,” Tlaib said. “They have a right to be able to explain to the world that they are still suffering from Nakba, when the world watched with no intervention.”
