Genghis Khan and his successors’ conquests left much of the Muslim middle east, from the banks of the Indus river in India to the mountains of Tian Shan in China, across the Iranian plateau, all the way to the coast of the Mediterranean, desolate and destroyed and yet just barely more than a century after this speech, the successors of the self-declared punishment of a God, that Genghis did not even follow, had become Muslims. This is the story of how Mongol warriors and rulers became Muslim amirs and sultans.
