as posted by the channelWilliam Guy Banister was an FBI agent, private investigator, and intelligence operative who had a mysterious connection to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. During the 1950s, he worked as an investigator for the FBI and was stationed in New Orleans. In 1956, he left the FBI and opened his own private investigation and intelligence agency, Banister & Associates.
In the early 1960s, Banister became closely associated with the militant anti-Castro Cuban exile group, the Cuban Revolutionary Council, and its leader, Sergio Arcacha Smith. Banister was also closely tied to the notorious mobster Carlos Marcello, who had direct connections to the Kennedy assassination.
Banister was also the contact person for Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of President Kennedy. In the weeks before the assassination, Oswald had visited Banister's office several times. He had also sought help from Banister to establish his "Fair Play for Cuba Committee."
