YouTube Description
as posted by the channelStabilize video in post production using Final Cut Pro X. In this week’s tutorial, we’ll take a look at how to stabilize video, the shaky handheld footage, in FCPX. Using Final Cut Pro's stabilization effect, you can stabilize video and achieve great results that will make shaky, handheld footage appear as it was filmed using a tripod or a gimbal. We’ll take a look at Final Cut Pro’s two methods to stabilize video, the InertiaCam and Smooth Cam methods, the adjustments that can be made in each method, and when each method works best. We’ll also take a look at the tripod mode, which locks your clip down, so theres no camera movement at all, as if your camera was on a tripod.
Final Cut Pro’s stabilization effect is a great tool that can be used to salvage which would otherwise be unusable shots. The way Final Cut Pro achieves this is by cropping in on your clip, detecting the camera motion, and then applying the transform effect to compensate for camera movement. This works best if your source footage is higher resolution than your project resolution.
