Adam Schiff, one of the Democrats leading the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, told reporters Oct. 15 that witness testimony this week regarding a call between Trump and the president of Ukraine has revealed more about that conversation and the preparation that led to it. He added that the White House continues to "stonewall" congressional attempts to hear from other members of the administration. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, among others, have said they will not comply with House subpoenas to testify about the call. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House would not yet hold a vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry, an action Democrats have wrestled with for weeks. When asked why she wouldn't hold a vote to force the White House into complying, Pelosi said, "We're not here to call bluffs, we're here to find the truth ... this is not a game for us, this is deadly serious."
