Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, argued for an amendment to the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, saying that that "it is not frivolous and without facts that we proceed." "We take this in a very somber manner," Lee added. Lee yielded her time to her colleague, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., who said that people died while the U.S. withheld aid from Ukraine, "so this had life and death consequences." The House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 12 considered revisions to the articles of impeachment and voted on whether to send those articles to the full U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats on Tuesday filed two articles of impeachment against Trump -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
