Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the lead House impeachment manager, said President Donald Trump changed his mind about who should testify in his Senate impeachment trial. Trump previously said he would “love” to have Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former Secretary of Energy Rick Perry testify in the trial. “But now the president is changing his tune,” Schiff said, when arguing against a resolution that would govern how witnesses could be called to testify. The House managers and Trump’s legal team debated the proposal put forth by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Jan 21. Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December on two articles — abuse power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether senators convict Trump of those charges and remove him from office or acquit him.
