as posted by the channelAmy Walter, the national editor of the Cook Political Report, said that this year’s presidential election is notably different from that of 2016, partly because former Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden has performed better with the public so far, in comparison to former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016. “He’s not as deeply disliked as she was,” said Walter, noting that Clinton's negative polling numbers were much higher by this point last cycle than Biden’s currently are. Walter joined PBS NewsHour's senior political reporter Dan Bush to speak about the 2020 presidential race on the first night of the Democratic National Convention, which is being held virtually this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
