Her debut solo album, released earlier this year, is both an homage to and a critique of rural America. Now, she’s using her voice and social media to try to bring attention to social justice issues. She says music has always been a medium for change and wishes other artists would use their platforms to encourage their fans to be more involved in the political process.
"I feel like, historically, music has been a medium for change," Goodman told the PBS NewsHour.
