1:57Now PlayingHouse Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., presented Vice President Kamala Harris with a photo of her swearing-in during the 2021 inauguration. McCarthy, who objected to certifying Biden’s victory in the 2020 election after the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, recognized that Harris had “made history” as the first female vice president, and said that Americans should remember that “this is not the end but just the beginning.” He encouraged the new vice president, when she looks at the photo, to remember “the beginning of the job we have to do” together.
