YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRep. Lucy McBath, D-Ga., made a personal appeal Thursday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the “Protecting Our Kids Act,” which would raise the age to purchase semi-automatic rifles to 21 from 18.
McBath cited the loss of her own 17-year-old son in to gun violence, comparing it to the killings of 19 children in Uvalde, Texas on May 24. She asked her fellow lawmakers to “imagine the phone call parents across Uvalde received” confirming the deaths of their children.
Thursday's hearing on the bill comes after a wave of deadly mass shootings in Uvalde, Buffalo, New York; and most recently Tulsa, Oklahoma.
