YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., on Oct. 13 called for the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack to vote on whether to subpoena former President Donald Trump.
Thompson said that Trump’s testimony would tell “the most complete story possible” and
make sure “nothing like Jan. 6 ever happens again.”
“This is a question about accountability to the American people,” the chairman said. “He must be accountable. He is required to answer for his actions. He's required to answer to those police officers who put their lives and bodies on the line to defend our democracy. He's required to answer to those millions of Americans whose votes he wanted to throw out as part of his scheme to remain in power.”
The committee returned to its public-facing work after nearly three months, having rescheduled the current hearing two weeks ago in light of Hurricane Ian.
