YouTube Description
as posted by the channelTeachers are on "the front-line of gun violence" and Congress must act to pass gun control legislation, President Joe Biden said at the National Education Association's convention on Tuesday.
Biden said some measure had been passed on a bipartisan basis last year in the aftermath of the mass shooting at the elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas but ,"it's not nearly enough."
"Congress needs to step up and pass common sense gun safety laws to protect our kids and educators," Biden said.
Biden also rejected calls by some Republicans that teachers should be armed as a way of curtailing school shootings.
"Arming teachers is not the answer. Banning assault weapons, high capacity magazines, background checks. They are the answer," Biden said.
