Christopher Nolan, director of the recently released “Oppenheimer” movie, backs the ongoing strike by members of SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America.

The strike was announced during the movie’s premiere in London last week and actors walked out of the event.

In an interview with PBS NewsHour’s Jeffrey Brown, Nolan said he’s not as worried about the long-term impact on the pipeline of films.

“What I’m concerned about is the working members of my guild, the Writers Guild and SAG. This is about getting a fair deal in a new media landscape,” he said.

This post was produced and edited by Tim McPhillips, Matt Rasnic, Yasmeen Alamiri and Julia Griffin.
