as posted by the channelPFAS are man-made chemicals used in consumer products since the 1940s. The “forever chemicals” are often used in non-stick, stain resistant and water resistant materials. They do not break down naturally and are associated with a slew of negative health impacts. Two legacy PFAS chemicals – PFOS and PFOAs – have been largely replaced in production. But PFAS alternatives that have taken their place are still long-lasting, can similarly accumulate in the environment and are not well-researched for health impacts. Here are all the places PFAS has been detected.
