0:55Now PlayingPalestinian authorities said an Israeli air strike on a Gaza hospital Tuesday killed at least 500 people, a claim refuted by the Israeli military, which said the blast was the result of a misfired militant rocket.
Images from the scene of the explosion show a fire raging inside the al- Ahli Arab Hospital, where many civilians had been sheltering when the strike occurred. Medical personnel rushed those injured to nearby facilities.
The deadly strike comes amid a deepening humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza as residents run low on electricity, medicine, food and water.
Tim McPhillips, Julia Griffin, Yasmeen Alamiri, Erica R. Hendry and Michael Regan produced and edited this post.
