As Israel’s offensive in Rafah continues, 10 American doctors are stuck in southern Gaza . There's no way to leave since Israel closed the border crossing.
Dr. Adam Hamawy spoke to NewsHour Producer Zeba Warsi from the European Hospital in Khan Younis. He’s part of a team of doctors with the Palestinian American Medical Association providing life-saving medical aid. Hamawy previously served in Iraq and helped save Sen, Tammy Duckworth’s life when she was injured in 2004 and lost both legs. He told us May 15 that the conditions in the southern Gaza hospital, were dire and tragic.
