as posted by the channelSen. JD Vance formally accepted the Republican vice presidential nomination Wednesday during the third night of the Republican National Convention, emphasizing the strength of the Trump-Vance ticket and criticizing decades of President Joe Biden's positions and policies.
"Now, Joe Biden has been a politician in Washington for longer than I've been alive. 39 years old. Kamala Harris is not much further behind. For half a century, he's been the champion of every major policy initiative to make America weaker and poorer. And in four short years, Donald Trump reversed decades of betrayals inflicted by Joe Biden and the rest of the corrupt Washington insiders," Vance said.
The theme of the evening was "Make America Strong Once Again." Gold Star families and veterans took the stage along prominent Republican leaders and lawmakers to speak out against President Joe Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan, among other military and national security issues.
Other speakers included Kellyanne Conway, the former counselor to the president, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, Trump's son Don Trump, Jr. and Vance's wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance. Here are some of the major moments from night three of the 2024 RNC.
