as posted by the channelSam Brown, the GOP Senate candidate from Nevada, spoke with PBS News at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
An Afghanistan war veteran who was injured during his service there in 2008, Brown said he would like to see continued U.S. support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, while calling for more transparency and accountability in how U.S. funds are being used.
"What we see is not just a Putin versus Ukraine dynamic here. This is an alignment of Iran, of China, of North Korea, of Russia, together," Brown told PBS News Hour's Geoff Bennett. "And when we have an opportunity to blunt those forces that are trying to align against the United States and the free world, I think that we ought to take that very seriously."
The third night of the convention was devoted to foreign policy and national security, as well as Sen. J.D. Vance’s formal acceptance of the vice presidential nomination.
Former President Donald Trump named Vance as his running mate Monday. During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and Trump will address the convention Thursday.
