0:50Now PlayingVice President Kamala Harris said she would "proudly" put her record up against that of former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally Tuesday in the battleground state of Wisconsin.
It was her first rally since launching her presidential bid following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race Sunday. During the event, she noted her years as California attorney general and compared Trump's record as the first former president to be convicted of a crime with the people she had worked to hold accountable as a former prosecutor.
"I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain," she said. "So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump's type."
With Biden's endorsement, Harris is the favorite to win the Democratic presidential nomination. She has already gained enough pledged support from Democratic delegates to become the party's presidential nominee.
