1:26Now PlayingMinnesota Gov. Tim Walz called on Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance to debate him while speaking at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
"I can't wait to debate the guy," Walz said. "That is, if he's willing to get off the couch and show up."
The rally was Walz's first campaign event with Vice President Kamala Harris since she selected him to join her at the top of the Democratic ticket as her running mate.
During the event, he also went after Vance's policy views that have been criticized by some as being extreme. Trump's "running mate shares his dangerous and backward agenda for this country," Walz said.
Philadelphia was the start of a campaign tour for the two Democratic running mates. Harris and Walz will visit six more battleground states together over a five-day trip.
