3:23Now PlayingFormer President Bill Clinton spent his 28-minute speech at the Democratic National Convention drawing contrasts between Vice President Kamala Harris and her opponent in the 2024 race.
Clinton said Harris, “the president of joy,” could lead the nation, while painting former President Donald Trump as a selfish leader.
“The next time you hear him, don’t count the lies. Count the 'I's,” he said. "When Kamala Harris is president, every day will begin with you, you, you, you."
Clinton also claimed that millions more jobs were created under Democratic administrations since the end of the Cold War, besting their Republican counterparts.
Since the Cold War’s end in 1989, “America has created about 51 million new jobs. I swear I checked this three times. Even I couldn’t believe it.” he said. “What’s the score? Democrats 50, Republicans one.”
This claim is true when you look at net gains in jobs.
