3:04Now PlayingMinnesota governor and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz spoke about his opponents, former President Donald Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance, at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday, calling their positions “weird” and “wrong.”
In a speech accepting the nomination, Walz addressed Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for a potential second term for former President Donald Trump.
“They spent a lot of time pretending they know nothing about this, but look, I coached high school football long enough to know, and trust me on this, when somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they're going to use it,” Walz said.
He said if Trump wins, his administration would work to repeal the Affordable Care Act, restrict reproductive rights, and roll back welfare programs.
“Here's the thing, it's an agenda nobody asked for. It's an agenda that serves nobody except the richest and the most extreme amongst us. And it's an agenda that does nothing for our neighbors in need,” Walz said. “Is it weird? Absolutely. Absolutely. But it’s also wrong.”
Walz's speech came a day before Vice President Kamala Harris will take the stage as the official nominee.
