In Asheville's River Arts District, where entire buildings went underwater, local artists were taking what little materials remained to help prop up nearby mobile homes, PBS News’ Laura Barrón-López reports.
The storm destroyed water lines and roads, making access to basic supplies difficult. President Joe Biden deployed FEMA to the area to aid in recovery efforts.
Barrón-López shares what she saw in a local mobile home community, where one resident shared they've been without safe drinking water for almost three weeks.
