YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhen asked if she thinks former President Donald Trump is a fascist, Vice President Kamala Harris said Wednesday, “Yes, I do.”
Harris' answer came during a solo town hall hosted by CNN in Pennsylvania. Trump declined the invitation to participate.
The town hall was a chance for the vice president to address the concerns of undecided voters and try to lock in their votes before Nov. 5.
The event also occurred amid the news that Trump’s former White House chief of staff John Kelly revealed in a piece for The Atlantic that the former president once said, "I need the kind of generals that Hitler had.” The retired four-star general also spoke to The New York Times, where he said Trump would rule like a fascist if reelected.
According to the Council on Foreign Relations, many experts agree that fascist movements promote "extreme nationalism, militarism, and the supremacy of the nation over the individual. This model of government stands in contrast to liberal democracies that support individual rights, competitive elections and political dissent. ... Although fascist leaders typically claim to support the everyman, in reality, their regimes often align with powerful business interests."
