as posted by the channelSen. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, questioned U.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi in a confirmation hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Durbin asked Bondi whether the people convicted for violenet assaults on Jan. 6, 2021, should be pardoned. Bondi responded that the pardons would fall under President-elect Donald Trump's authority, but if asked, she would look at each case and consider them individually. When pushed on her answer by the senator, she said she condemned any violence against any law enforcement officer.
Bondi is a former Florida attorney general and has been a longtime ally of President-elect Donald Trump. This is the first of two hearings the committee has scheduled for the nominee.
