Richard Blumenthal, D-Ct., asked U.S. attorney general nominee Pam Bondi during a confirmation hearing Wednesday held by the Senate Judiciary Committee whether she would be able to say "no" to President-elect Donald Trump in the event that he makes "unethical" or "illegal" requests.
Bondi pushed back and said she was there to speak the truth and answer the committee's questions to the best of her ability.
Bondi is a former Florida attorney general and has been a longtime ally of President-elect Donald Trump. This is the first of two hearings the committee has scheduled for the nominee.
