Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., questioned Lori Chavez-DeRemer on Wednesday in her confirmation hearing for labor secretary about her history working for Planned Parenthood. He asked whether she is “pro-life or pro-choice.”

“I have a 100 percent pro-life voting record in Congress, and I will continue to support the America

First agenda, which we know includes life,” the nominee said.

Chavez-DeRemer has said in the past that while she does not personally support abortion, she is against an abortion ban and in support of IVF.

The former mayor and Oregon congresswoman was raised in a Teamsters family and has strong backing from labor groups. Her union-friendly stance has been a point of contention among her fellow Republicans.
