1:29Now PlayingThe U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected President Donald Trump's attempt to freeze about $2 billion in foreign aid spending.
In a 5-4 vote, the high court justices upheld U.S. District Judge Amir Ali's order that required the Trump administration to release the funds for foreign aid for work that has already been done.
In their vote, the five justices in the majority -- Chief Justice John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson -- told Ali to clarify his earlier order.
