1:06Now PlayingPresident Trump on Tuesday signed four executive orders aimed at boosting coal production in the United States. Coal once provided over half of the nation's electricity, but that fell to just 16 percent in 2023. In one of the executive order, Trump ended an Obama-era leasing moratorium that paused new coal projects on federal land. He also required federal agencies to stop any policies that transition the country away from coal production.
