YouTube Description
as posted by the channelSecretary of State Marco Rubio told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday that the U.S will continue to provide foreign, disaster relief and humanitarian aid to countries around the world, even amid a major realignment of the State Department and an effort to close the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)
“We're going be doing all the things we've done before, maybe not some of the same projects, but we're going be doing all of it,” Rubio said during an exchange with Sen. John Curtis, R-Utah.
Rubio said foreign aid will be “coordinated out of the umbrella of the State Department, and it's going to be part of a cohesive, coherent foreign policy.”
USAID is the federal agency under the authority of secretary of state that is responsible for distributing and administering U.S. aid and assistance around the world.
