Their announcement that there is a 50-50 chance of a collision occurring within the next 10 billion years is better odds that previously reported. In a study published in Nature Astronomy, the Finnish-led team of astronomers said, “As it stands, proclamations of the impending demise of our galaxy seem greatly exaggerated.”
