5:18Now PlayingSen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., excoriated Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as he testified Wednesday before the Senate Armed Services Committee about the Trump administration's proposed defense budget.
"You are blowing through money like my fellow cadets and I did in our first liberty after basic camp," said Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran and former lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard. "Your failures, Mr. Secretary, since you've taken office has been staggering."
Duckworth criticized the Defense Department's deployment of Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests there against immigration raids and the authorization of troops in Florida, Louisiana and Texas to assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with "admin and logistics work."
