But the Trump administration’s actions around immigration and higher education could significantly reduce international student enrollment, affecting local and state economies.
Altbach says that the number of international students thinking about studying abroad has declined.
In May the Trump administration paused student visa interviews but on Wednesday announced they would resume the process and would be demanding access to student’s social media accounts.
