as posted by the channelThe last penny was pressed on Wednesday at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia. The move comes after President Donald Trump's order earlier this year to stop producing the 1-cent coin.
It costs about 4 cents to create a single penny, and the Treasury Department says ending penny production will save American taxpayers approximately $56 million a year.
