President Donald Trump attacked Pope Leo XIV over the weekend for speaking out against the war in Iran, saying he is "weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy."

"Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician," Trump wrote in a social media post.

Leo, who has urged an end to the U.S-Israeli war with Iran, responded Monday aboard the papal plane heading for an 11-day trip in Africa, saying he won't back down from speaking out against the war.

“I have no fear, neither of the Trump administration, nor of speaking out loudly about the message of the Gospel," he said.
