as posted by the channelThe U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that an Army veteran who was injured by a suicide bomb in Afghanistan 10 years ago can sue the government contractor that hired the attacker.
Former Army Specialist Winston Hencely was wounded when an Afghan employee blew himself up at Bagram Airfield in 2016, killing five people.
The decision overturns a lower court ruling that had blocked his lawsuit due to a federal government protection during wartime.
In a rare lineup, the court's liberal three justices, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan joined conservative Clarence Thomas in the decision.
