as posted by the channelPresident Donald Trump said that “Oman will behave just like everybody else or we'll have to blow them up,” during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
A reporter asked Trump whether he would accept a short-term deal allowing Iran and Oman to control the Strait of Hormuz.
“No, the strait's going to be open to everybody,” Trump said.
The reporter asked Trump who would control the Strait of Hormuz if it were to be open. The waterway which is a crucial oil shipping route has largely been closed since the U.S. launched the war.
“It's international waters. Nobody's going to control it. We're going to watch over it. We'll watch over it, but nobody’s going to control it. That’s part of the negotiation that we have,” Trump said. “They would like to control. Nobody's going to control it. It's international waters and Oman will behave just like everybody else or we'll have to blow them up. They understand that, they'll be fine.”
Trump said Iran and the U.S. are in conversations around making a deal to end the war but a deal has not been reached.
