1:26Now PlayingPresident Donald Trump called a landmark bipartisan housing bill that is awaiting either his signature of veto "so unimportant" in comparison to the SAVE America Act, an elections bill that adds new proof-of-citizenship and voter ID requirements.
"When I look at the SAVE America Act, it's about saving America," he said during a presidential memo signing event in the Oval Office on Monday. "I'd like to have the SAVE America Act added. That's probably not going to happen because we have four Republican senators, maybe five, that just won't vote for it. It's crazy."
The SAVE America Act has repeatedly stalled in the Senate. The housing bill aims to lower prices and boost the supply of housing.
"To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn," the president said.
