3:13Now PlayingWhile Barstool Sports has faced criticism for being sexist or demeaning in its content, Dave Portnoy says the company considers itself a "comedy website" and makes jokes about "everybody."
"We say things about quite literally everybody," Portnoy told PBS News' Amna Nawaz, noting comments made about baseball star Alex Rodriguez's steroid use and Tiger Woods' extramarital affairs. "You could literally have a different group, and they have complained about every type of joke we've made, which, to me, I think is clearly in the jest of comedy."
He spoke to Amna Nawaz for the latest episode of the PBS News' podcast, "Settle In." They discussed his new book, "Cancel Me If You Can," which details how he grew Barstool into a media goliath and the controversies he's faced along the way.
