2:02Now Playing“We live in a sick system. We do not live in a well system,” Lisa Patel, executive director of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, told Horizons host William Brangham during a special episode from the Aspen Ideas: Health festival.
Brangham discussed with clinicians how climate change harms our health and places significant strain on the nation's healthcare system, as well as how the medical establishment is recognizing that its own practices contribute to global warming.
“If only we as a country would actually invest in prevention, that to me is the climate solution for healthcare,” Patel said.
