0:33Now PlayingPresident Donald Trump announced a pause on ground beef tariffs Friday in an attempt to lower prices for consumers.
Trump posted on social media that the U.S. will allow up to 300,000 metric tons of beef to be imported over 90 days without triggering higher tariff rates.
He also said there’s a commitment that it will be sold at 25% below current market prices, though he didn’t say which companies agreed to do so.
Ground beef prices were up around 10% in July compared to last year.
