Geoff Bennett spoke to Stuart about his latest book, “John of John,” which follows a young man’s return to his hometown in the islands off the coast of Scotland as he grapples with his family, religion and his own sexuality. Stuart spoke about the book’s themes, how he started writing and the ways in which his own life is reflected in all his work.
