Ryan is expected to fire up the Republican Party's conservative base after pushing a controversial budget and economic vision marked by deep cutbacks to the social safety net coupled with lower tax rates. Falling on the far-right spectrum of his own Republican Party, Ryan opposes abortion in all situations, including cases of rape and incest.
