Clinton won the popular vote by as many 2 million votes but lost the Electoral College to Donald Trump. Clinton’s margin is now bigger than the winning margins for John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. She spoke at a gala for the Children’s Defense Fund, the nonprofit founded by Marian Wright Edelman where Clinton once worked.
