Women's rights attorney Jessica Neuwirth calls this a "shameful week for the United States," noting that the first thing women who experience sexual violence need is reproductive healthcare.
"If they become pregnant," Neuwirth says, "the idea that they would be forced to carry to term that pregnancy from rape, caused by rape, has been found by the United Nations ... to constitute a form of torture."
