Her death follows 10 recorded murders of trans women of color in 2019 so far. "While there is so much celebration and excitement around the strides that we have made as a community, these are sobering reminders of how much further we have to go," says Raquel Willis, trans activist and executive editor of Out Magazine. "We have to continue this fight."
